Historical program policy
Legacy pages state that Cane Corso tails were docked and dewclaws removed at approximately three days old. Show or working prospects were generally cropped, while companion buyers could have a choice when arranged early.
Timing and aftercare
An ear crop requires an experienced veterinarian, anesthesia, pain management, wound care and often weeks of posting. Understand the plan, total cost, healing timeline and aftercare responsibility.
Make an informed decision
Ask what has already been performed for the specific puppy, what options remain, which veterinarian is involved and whether the procedure complies with rules where the puppy and buyer live.
Veterinary guidance
Discuss the individual puppy, procedure, anesthesia, pain control, risks and alternatives directly with a licensed veterinarian.
